Who's using our new services?

Image of our new Clear View review and approval web site

We've been working hard to develop new services that will help our clients through the post production process. Here's some responses:

Avid Unity Media Manager: "it was great to view my rushes and make my own log for further uses of the footage (as is happening now!)" says Gavin Knight, corporate producer / director. Avid Media Manager enables producers to view and log their rushes on a separate PC, independently of their editor and edit suite.

Clear View: "Clear View has proved to be invaluable for viewings with our US co–producers" says assistant producer at Dox Productions, Sarah Kinsella about our new tapeless delivery service. Using the latest technology, we can encode and upload media to our own dedicated web server. Production executives around the world can then log on and either live–stream, or download, any posted media including cut programmes, at their leisure.

Audacity: Stephen Marsh, Pioneer Productions, Series Producer "Naked Science" says "I have been very impressed with Clear Cut's adoption of new technology. For instance, Audacity, a simple commentary record system that allows the director to record commentary for an edit remotely, has revolutionised edits. Instead of tying up editor, Avid and director, the director can record the commentary onto their PC and then import it into the Avid. This allows greater flexibility in the edit and saves substantial amounts of time."

Grading at Clear Cut Pictures

BBC Science 'Winning Gold in 2012: A Horizon Special'

Since our new grading suite's launch day back in February, we've been keeping colourist Simon Astbury busy with a wide range of projects. Directors and producers have been impressed by the scope of the machine and the speed at which programmes can be completed. F/Stop complements Clear Cut's tried and tested Symphony Grading line–up, opening the facility to a full range of factual and drama grading applications.

"It's great to finally have a dedicated grading facility at Clear Cut. The F/Stop more than holds its own against systems like Pogle, and its non linear capabilities are a real plus. I'm genuinely and pleasantly surprised at how good it is" says Pete Leonard, director of 'Winning Gold in 2012: A Horizon Special'.
